1. Marketplace Discovery
DealMetrik scans supported marketplace search results for collectible products. Each discovered listing is stored with its marketplace identifier, title, observed price, shipping when available, image, and other listing metadata needed for analysis.
2. Listing Parsing and Normalization
Marketplace titles can be inconsistent. DealMetrik parses listing text to identify the likely product type and relevant attributes such as quantity, language, condition, and product identity. Listings that appear to be accessories, mystery products, graded products being compared with raw-card references, ambiguous lots, or otherwise unsuitable matches can be rejected before valuation.
3. Market-Reference Matching
Eligible listings are matched against independent collectible market data. A match must meet a confidence threshold before it can support a public deal. When a listing cannot be matched with sufficient confidence, DealMetrik does not publish it as a verified opportunity.
4. Conservative Validation
For selected promising listings, DealMetrik can perform a second marketplace look to compare additional exact or near-exact listings. Where both a market-data reference and an eBay comparison are available, the system can use the more conservative reference rather than automatically choosing the higher value.
5. Deal Score
The Deal Score is an internal ranking signal designed to summarize the strength of an opportunity. It considers factors such as the observed discount, confidence in the product match, and the quality of available validation. A high score is not a guarantee of resale profit, future value, item authenticity, seller performance, or transaction success.
6. Freshness and Expiration
Marketplace opportunities can disappear quickly. DealMetrik only treats listings as live when they have been observed recently. Listings that age beyond the live window or otherwise stop qualifying are removed from the live feed. Some previously verified listings are retained in Recent Verified Deals for transparency.
Limitations
Market data can be delayed, marketplace listings can contain errors, product conditions can be subjective, and taxes or shipping can vary. DealMetrik is an informational tool, not a guarantee of price, inventory, authenticity, investment return, or seller performance. Visitors should review the marketplace listing before purchasing.
